The Pisao Stop Kick
What’s Inside
Gracie Jiu-Jitsu has one kick–the pisao (in Portuguese “big step”). This kick has been used for decades by the Gracie family and Gracie representatives to manage the distance and stop forward aggression.
On April 4th, 1994 Master Pedro Sauer demonstrated the effectiveness of the pisao against a roided out Mr. Utah. Pedro weighed in at 150lbs and Mr. Utah tipped the scales at 250lbs. Pedro repeatedly landed the pisao against the frustrated bodybuilder who then tackled Pedro to the mats–right where Master Sauer wanted him.
In this class, I show you how to develop timing and power in your pisao. As Master Sauer showed us, when you manage the distance, you manage the damage.
